Vision    

Proposed activities of the New Office Bearers of the chamber for the period of 2003 - 2004, One year under the president ship of Sri.S.I.Munavalli.

  • To promote vigorously activities of Export Promotion Cell in continuation of efforts already in progress.
                  
  • To take up infrastructure developments of North Karnataka with the respective Government and other bodies such as North Karnataka Task Force and Hubli Dharwad Agenda Task Force.
                  
  • To promote Software Technology Park and to take up the matter for reduction of leasing rate with the Dy. Commissioner's office.
                  
  • To organize State level Conference of all District Chambers of Commerce and Affiliated Associations of the Chamber.
                  
  • To open an Advisory / Consultancy Cell for sales Tax / Excise / VAT matters for the benefit of the members.
                  
  • To establish a Permanent Exhibition Center/Trade Center in this area to promote trade and commerce exhibitions.
                  
  • To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee functions of the Chamber in the month of September 2004 as Two days program, one day for the state level Conference and celebrations and 2nd day Seminars and workshops on trade and industry.
                  
  • To organize lectures by eminent speakers in the field of trade and industry every quarterly on a regular basis.
                  
  • To give more coverage with additional activities to the Numismatic Society already formed by the Chamber in the name and style of "COINS".
                  
  • To follow up with the Railways for commencing the regular Hubli -Mumbai daily train services.
                  
  • To retain ZRUCC Membership of the Chamber.

Proposed activities 2004 - 05

  • KCC&I is celebrating its "Platinum Jubilee " during this year and the inauguration function was held on 09/2004 in the benign hands of H.H.Sri.Jyanayogi Siddeshwar Swamiji. It is proposed to celebrate the valedictory function on a grand scale by inviting eminent personalities in the different areas and industrialists as Chief Guest.
                 
  • KCC&I has been striving hard for the development of North Karnataka region and a meeting was called inviting MLA's and MP's of this area and a memorandum was submitted, the meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Dr.D.M.Nanjundappa wherein there was a discussion on the developmental work in this part. It is a matter of pleasure for us that Sri.H.K.Patil, Sri.S.R.Morey, Sri.Basavaraj Horatti, Sri.Jabbar Khan Honnalli of Dharwad District and Sri.R.V.Deshpande of neighboring district have been inducted in the State Cabinet recently. The above Ministers have been working for the development of North Karnataka region since many years. It has been decided to impress upon Sri.H.K.Patil, Hon'ble Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, for establishment of High Court Bench. There are some discrepancies in the SAS Scheme and other civic problems on which Chamber urged to review upon the subjects to Sri.S.R.Morey, Hon'ble Minister for Municipal Administration & KUIDFC The Chamber requested Sri.Basavaraj Horatti, Hon'ble Minister for Lottery & Small Savings, Science & Technology, to invite the IT investors to set up their industries in the I.T. Park in this part. The Chamber has written and urged to Sri.R.V.Deshpande, Hon'ble Minister for Co-operation to revive and rehabilitate the co-operative sector. We have written to Sri.Jabbar Khan Honnalli, Hon'ble Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs for setting up of a full pledged stadium in this area. It has also been decided to convene the meeting of all the Ministers of this region to discuss upon various subjects on the development of North Karnataka.
                 
  • It has been decided to organise a foreign tour for the members of KCC&I during April-May 2005.
                 
  • The "Export Promotion Cell" of KCC&I, is completing its 2nd year in January and to commemorate the Anniversary, it has been decided to organize Two Days seminar and to invite Best Exporters from this region and award them on this occasion.
                 
  • It has been proposed to organize an industrial exhibition during April-May 2005 in association with various trade and industry organizations.
                 
  • As a part of "Platinum Jubilee" celebration, it has been decided to conduct Seminars/lectures by inviting eminent personalities like Sri.Venu Srinivasan,CMD of TVS Group of Companies,Managing Director of Tata Group of Companies, Kalyani Group of Companies and renowned personalities in the different areas.
                 
  • KCC&I has been making relentless efforts for commencement of air services from Bangalore-Hubli-Mumbai. The Chamber had urged for the night landing facility at Hubli Airport, now it is materialised and the runway is also asphalted. The proposal was submitted for the New Terminal Building along with a fresh plan for which the permission is granted, the matter is in the pipeline for which Chamber
    is making continuous efforts with the Civil Aviation Department.
                 
  • It is expected that VAT will be effecting from 1/4/2005. In this regard, KCC& is proposing to conduct camps through out North Karnataka to educate the traders and merchants by inviting the experts for
    conducting the seminars on the VAT matter.
                 
  • The Chamber has written to the Government to provide all the facilities under the "SINGLE POINT SOLUTION" to the investors of Information Technology sector. In this regard, the Government has assured of extending fullest co-operation for the investors.

 

Proposed activities for Year 2006

  • Establishment of Permanent Exhibition Center
    Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry, for the benefit of general public of Hubli-Dharwad and also to address the over all development of North Karnataka is planning to establish Permanent Exhibition Centre.  State Government has approved the project.  Chamber is conducting a survey for suitable land for Exhibition Centre between Hubli-Dharwad and is preparing necessary blue prints for the construction of the same.  It is proposed to organize all the exhibitions in the said exhibition centre and people of North Karnataka as a whole can avail the benefits of this exhibition centre.
              
  • Development of Information Technology
    Bangalore is known as “Silicon city” of India and is a hub for the I.T. Industries attracting investors from even abroad who have set up their units at Bangalore and carrying out their activities.  KCC&I has been making fervent efforts in inviting investors to set up their units at Hubli and has played a vital role in establishing Information Technology Centre at Hubli.  It has been making efforts for reduction of rentals of the space at IT Park, to attract more investors.   KEONICS has taken over the IT park and making efforts for the development of the same.  It is also planned to establish industrial estate for establishing IT units wherein budding IT investors can set up their units which in turn, provides employment to the local people.
                
  • Development of Tourism In North Karnataka
    Karnataka has many attractive tourist places.  Among them, Golgumbaz of Bijapur, Caves of Badami,  Temples of Banashankari, Pattadkall, Aihole, Mahakut, Sangameshwar temple of Kudalsangam,  Renuka temple of Saundatti, Somanath temple of Sogal, Ulavi Channabasaveshwar, Gokarn, Murdeshwar,   Marikamba   temple  of   Sirsi, Madhukeshwar of Banavasi, Virupaksha temple and other temples of Hampi, Gavisiddeshwar temple of Koppal, Amruteshwar temple of Annigeri, Veeranarayan temple of Gadag, Somanath temple of Laxmeshwar, Fakkireshwar temple of Shirhatti, Karwar Port, Yana, Magod Falls,  Hospet Dam,   Almatti Dam, Navilthirtha of Munavalli are the main.  These tourist places should be divided region wise and it is proposed  to insist for providing bus facilities to the above places to Karnataka State as well as private tour operators.  Hubli-Dharwad twin cities are having the facilities of star hotels which are an added advantage for the tourists for making halt after visiting nearby tourist places. By this, the hotel industries and related business can also improve.
              
  • Establishment of Agri Facilitation Center and Residual Testing Lab In Associaltion with UAS, Dharwad.
    The Export Promotion Cell of KCC&I has been guiding the budding exporters of this region for the last 3 years.  The Facilitation Centre will provide consultancy and expert advise to Farm Product exporters and growers of various quality standards prevailing in different world markets and assist them to obtain chemical & residual testing certificate from the UAS Laboratory.
