1) Opportunities Abroad
A One day Seminar on “Opportunities Abroad” was organized at KCC&I, in association with ZDH/SEQUA on 26th May, 2005. Sri Satish Nandre, Managing Director, AMEY addressed the gathered audience.
2) “Doing Business with EU/Germany” & “Presentation of Platinum Jubilee Humanitarian Award”
KCC&I had organized one-day Seminar on “Doing Business with EU/Germany” and “Presentation of Platinum Jubilee Humanitarian Award” function on 27th May, 2005 at Naveen Hotel, Hubli in association with ZDH/SEQUA. Sri Jerugen Henkel, Project Co-ordinator, ZDH/SEQUA, Sri Stefano Gatto, Counselor, EU Delegation, New Delhi, Mrs.Audrey, GM, IGCC, Ms.Aaynoor Akllin and Sri A.K.Sinha made their presentations.
“Platinum Jubilee Humanitarian Award” was presented by the Chief Guest of the function Sri Gaurav Gupta, Dy.Commissioner, to Mrs.Heidi and Mr.Ernst Dutt of Hubli Handicapped Hospital for their humanitarian services. |
June2005 - All India Cotton Convention
The All India Cotton Convention was organised by the Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry Hubli, in association with the East India Cotton Association Mumbai and the Karnataka Cotton Association Hubli from 24th to 26th June 2005 at the Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry, J. C. Nagar Hubli. Sri Pralhad Joshi MP inaugurated the function, Sri Shankaranna Munavalli, President KCC&I made the welcome address and the President of EICA Sri K. F. Jhunjhunwala made the keynote address.
Seven members were awarded by EICA, Mumbai and thirteen members were awarded by Karnataka Cotton Association, Hubli for their valuable contribution in the field of Cotton Growing, Trading, Ginning & Pressing etc., |
Platinum Jubilee Celebration 29th August 2005
The Chamber celebrated its "Platinum Jubilee" during the year 2004-05. To commemorate the occasion, various seminars, symposiums & workshops were organised by inviting eminent speakers on various subjects through out the year. The inaugural ceremony of the said "Platinum Jubilee Celebration" was held on 27th September 2004 in the benign hands of H.H.Jyanayogi Sri Shiddeshwar Swamiji of Bijapur.
During the Valedictory function, the bust of the founder late Sri Murugayyaswamy Jangin was installed in front of the Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry Hubli and was unveiled by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri N. Dharam Singh on 29th August 2005. Further programs were held at Gokul Garden Hubli.
The then Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri N. Dharam Singh inaugurated the function, the then Deputy Chief Minister Sri M. P. Prakash released the Platinum Jubilee Souvenir and Sri Baba Kalyani, Managing Director of M/s.Bharat Forge Ltd. Pune, delivered the keynote address.
Sri H. K. Patil, the then Hon’ble Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Sri R.V.Deshpande, the then Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation, Sri S. R. M. Hindasgeri, MLC, Sri Basavaraj Bommai, MLC, Sri B. S. Patil, Ex Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka were the dignitaries, who attended the function.

The Gems and Dimonds Grading and Identification Cources for Jewllers from North Karnataka.
The Export Promotion Cell of KCC&I in association with Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, Chennai and Indian Diamond Institute, Surat had organised the above course for the first time from 29th September to 4th October, 2005. About 48 participants participated in the course and availed the benefit of this opportunity. The Course was inaugurated by Sri P.Manivannan, Commissioner, HDMC. Sri M.S.Srikar, IAS., was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory function distributed the certificates to the participants. Sri K.K. Sharma, Executive Director, IDI, Surat, Sri.Ruben Hobday, Regional Director, GJEPC were present.
Looking at the overwhelming response, the 2nd batch was organised from 9th February to 14th February 2006. Smt.Shailabala, Director, CMDR and Mrs.Jacinta, Jt. Director, Income tax were the guests for the Inaugural function and Sri Narayan Nadamani, IPS., Commissioner of Police, was the Chief Guest at theValedictory function and distributed the certificates to 30 participants. The courses imparted training on Grading and Identification of precious stones by using instruments.Also a presentation on “Gold Hall Marking” was made by Sri Hitesh Verma.

Seminar on Post Hong-Kong WTO Consultations on Agriculture & NAMA (Non Agriculture Market Access)
Export Promotion Cell in association with UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade And Development) and Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India had organized one-day seminar on above subject.
The main objective of the seminar was to assess the implications of the Hong-Kong Ministerial meeting of the WTO in India, primarily with respect to Agriculture and NAMA. More than 250 stakeholders participated and there were 20 Panel Experts. There were two technical sessions conducted one in Agriculture and another on NAMA and reaction was solicited from participants.

MEGA EVENTS – 1996, 2002 & 2007
Chamber, in order to promote and develop industries organised three mega events i.e. INCOMEX-1996, INCOMEX-2002 & INCOMEX-2007. Many Large and Medium Scale Industries actively participated in the event and gave scope for development of Small Scale and Cottage Industries. The last INCOMEX-2007 was inaugurated by Sri Katta Subramanya Naidu, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, Govt. of Karnataka. Impressed by the event, the Hon’ble Minister assured to give scope for the development of a Permanent Exhibition Centre in Hubli-Dharwad twin cities.
Chamber is instrumental in establishing Karnataka Material Testing Laboratory which is only of its kind in this region to meet the requirements of Industries. Chamber is also affiliated to FICCI-New Delhi, Indo German Chamber of Commerce, ASSOCHAM and CII. It has also lead delegation of Exporters/Importers to Sri Lanka, Germany and Republic of China through its EXPORT PROMOTION CELL to promote exports.
Chamber has tread more than 75 long years of success and achievements and has celebrated its Platinum Jubilee during 2003-04 when it paid its floral tributes to its founder and successive great Presidents. |
