Geographically Hubli is centrally located and is well connected by Air, Rail and Road ;Junction of B.G.Rail network highway between Mumbai-Banglore on NH4.Karwar-Gutti NH63 passes through Hubli. State highways are well connected.   
          
Seaport and Airports

Hubli is provided with all weather airport and feeder line and chartered flights are available from Belgaum, Banglore-Mumbai. Goa international airport is about 185 km from Hubli. Hubli forms part oh hinterland of Karwar sea port, access exists with Mangalore and Marmugao ports.

Air connectivity at Hubli is now available and flights are operating between Hubli and Bangalore. With the fervent efforts of the Chamber, MET facility is also provided at Hubli Airport which helped the take off and landing of the flights much easier. Efforts are being made for air connectivity from Hubli - Mumbai and getting clearance from DGCA for night landing facilities at Hubli Airport, up-gradation of Terminal Building, Runway, etc., at Hubli Airport and shortly night landing facilities are being provided.
    
Industries

Industrially Hubli is fast developing. There are Industrial Estates housing various types of Industries. Electric motors, Chemical pumps, Valves, Press metal & Sheet metal fabrication, Engineering, Casting, Ginning and Pressing, Agricultural implements etc. are major Industries. Ancillaries and small scale industries are in good numbers.   Railway Workshop and Diesel Loco Shed with collaboration of General Motors of U.S.A are in public sector. TELCO, KEC, KSRTC, NGEF, Kirloskar Warner and Swassey, BDK, and many others are large industries.

A Testing Center by name "Karnataka Material Testing and Reserch Center" which is first of its kind, is established at the Industrial Estate, Gokul road, Hubli and is catering to the testing needs of North Karnata. The testing undertaken are Chemical Analysis, Water / Soil Testing, Physical Testing, Instrument Calibration, etc. It is promoted by KCCI. 

Agriculture

Hubli is the hub of agricultural & horticulture area. Cotton, Food grains, Groundnuts, Chilies are major crops. Basaveshwar Agriculture Market Yard is one of the Asia's largest markets.
             
Historical and Tourist Places

Within the radius of 100 miles from Hubli, Vijaynagar, Badami, Aihole, Pattadkal, Gadag, Laxmeshwar and a little further Bijapur (which resides the world famous GOL GUMBAZ), and other historical places which were seats of power of various kingdoms of the southern India, attract visitors, historians & tourists all over the world.

Jog falls, Gokak falls, Godachinamacci falls, Yana, Gokarna, Murdeshwar and other beaches are much sought after tourist places with motarable roads. K.S.T.D.C and other private operators arrange conducted tours.
